Worship Arts Ministries Purpose Statement

The Worship Arts Ministries of Grace Church exist to lift up the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. (Colossians 3:16 & 17)  Our desire in leading worship is to give Christ the glory and honor due Him, and to equip the church to worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:24)

Worship Band
The Worship Band is a significant part of the worship culture at Grace Church.  Therefore, skilled musicians are needed for this team.  The band’s specific responsibility is to instrumentally accompany the congregation in what God desires to accomplish in the hearts and lives of His people through congregational singing.  Guitarists (both electric & acoustic), bass players, keyboardists, drummers and percussionists are the predominant instrumental needs, but we will use other instruments on occasion.  Involvement with this ministry will require an audition and an interview.  Music reading skills are not required, but they will be very helpful.

Worship Vocalist Teams

Worship vocalist teams play a vital role in our Worship Services.  Their main duty is to model heart engaged worship and help provide a vocal guide to provide leadership for the congregation. This is an excellent way to share your heart for worship and your God-given talents with others.  Involvement with this ministry will require an audition and an interview.  Music reading skills are not required, but they will be very helpful.

Worship Tech Team
This ministry is vitally important to the overall enhancement of the worship environment.  It requires people with a bent for technology, attentiveness for detail and the ability to remain focused in a worship environment.
  •  Audio Techs will need a keen ear, and a basic understanding of how sound and music function in a modern worship context.  An ability to react quickly in any given situation, listen artistically and not be rattled are other useful skills. Technical Training will be provided, but a working knowledge of P/A systems is very helpful.
  • The Projection & Lighting Teams are an integral part of each worship service.  We value what both artistic lighting and video projected elements add to the atmosphere in our worship services.  It requires individuals who are computer savvy, have sensitivity to the worship mood and an ability to keep constant focus.  Technical Training will be provided, but a working knowledge of projection and/or DMX lighting systems are very helpful.
